*  David Marshall Bornhoft ( Dave Marshall) has been a musician and recordist since his earliest days. He has a voracious appetite all things audio! Growing up in Montana, he took eight years of piano lessons,  played percussion in school band and took private lessons from “Icecapades” drummer Mark McGibony. After becoming an Eagle Scout and serving as Billings Senior High President of the Choirs (State Champions), Dave was selected to perform with The All Northwest Choir in Seatle! He attended MSU and studied privately under Drum Corps International Hall of Fame inductee, Professor James Campbell.

     Inspired to make a career of it, Dave toured the B-clubs of the North West for several years. In 1989 he packed up his kit and moved to Arizona. During the 90’s his bands Box of Cherries and The Einsteins (thanks Glenn DeJongh!) recorded in world class studios including Billy Moss’ Vintage, Hormel Studio with engineer Jeff Harris, Keith Olsen’s Goodnight LA, Front Page owned by Biff Vincent of The Ventures, Nashvilles’ On the Border, and The Record Factory owned by Mikal Blue who produced Colbie Caillat and Toad the wet Sprocket  among others.Notable band contests wins include Z-Rocks Radio Battle of the Bands (judged by Barry Squire of Warner Brothers),  Rock Today Magazine's Band of the Year(1993), ASU's Battle of the Bands (1996),

     Dave built his first recording computer in 1995 and has continuously owned and operated commercial home based recording studios culminating with FourDoor Studio! 

     Drumming in the 2000’s through today include many house gigs at downtown Scottsdale nightclubs, casinos, showrooms and dance halls. During this time he also studied privately with Mitch Markovich (three-time consecutive undefeated National Snare Drum Champion).

    Sound engineering highlights include running sound in the Platinum Room at Skye (Owner Terry Davies) for such notables as Denny Lane ( Paul McCartney and Wings, The Moody Blues),  Joey Molland ( Badfinger), Dave Somerville ( The Diamonds-Little Darlin'),  Gaynel Hodge ( The Platters – Earth Angel),  guitarist Marc Antoine (Sting, Celine Dion, Rod Stewart, Cher), and Canadian Juno award winning artists Sillan and Young.

    His mixing and mastering work has been heard on Nickelodeon. He has sound mixer credits at IMDb  for Pizza Shop the Movie and has provided audio sound track work for Dial Corporation. In 2015 he was selected to be a presenter at Arizona Producer Day held at C.R.A.S. and put on by N.A.R.I.P., Arizona Songwriters Association and Chicks With Picks!

     ** Dave is owner, recordist and session musician at FourDoorStudio. He nurtures several music service brands with stellar partners found here at www.azJAMS.com and currently gigs with many bands including Jukebox 6 featuring Nicole Pesce, Johnny K and Kompany  The Crimsons, The CoverUps, Casual Alien, Summer of Love, SoulGroove fill-in,  RockSmith fill-in and That Kool Band.fill-in. He is also doing preproduction work with The Gr80's featuring Mike Rehmer  from A Perfect Tool

He is a TJS Custom Drums endorser and is in the Blue Microphone Artist Program.

Keeping with the "any work in audio is good work" approach, DJ D has provided DJ services for more than 90 weddings and parties!.
